Central Istria
Cerovlje - Gračišće - Kanfanar - Pazin - Sveti Petar u Šumi - Svetvinčenat - ŽminjThis area is decorated with mythical landscapes, beautiful nature, many coves and hills with medieval towns and many villages with a rich heritage.
At the heart of the Istrian peninsula lies the town Pazin, which is also the administrative center of Istria. It is adorned by the abyss Pazinčica and the Pazin Cave, friendly and relaxed people, and numerous events and cultural happenings throughout the year. South of Pazin is situated Zminj, an old Istrian intersection, and a place with a rich heritage – from the city walls, to parts of the castle, the old tower, public cistern and three churches with frescoes. We should also mention the Zminj "Bartulja" – a folk festival, which is frequently visited by tourists and residents of Istria. East of Zminj is Barban, known for its knightly game "Race for the Ring", but also for the festivals of wine and the fig festival taking place in a unique location of the town square surrounded by ramparts. Located in the south of central Istria, a small medieval town Svetvincenat reached its full glory only recently through various events, harmony singing concerts and entertainment nights which are organized in attractive historical rooms of this little town – in the castle of the family Morisini-Grimani.
